Do You Still Watch Televised Poker
How much televised poker do you still watch? Today, another
website reported that NBCâs new Face the Ace program
debuted in last place with 1. 59 Million viewers in the first
half hour and 1. 54 Million in the 2nd hour. For most cable
networks, this would be great, but for a major network, this
is disastrous.

Thang Luu is a Jackass
Thang Luu went from being a two time bracelet winner to an
utter idiot. In a story that I just heard about thanks to
another website, apparently Thang Luu got himself banned
from Harrah's for breaking a dealer's hand. From the reports I have read, Luu and another player were in
a pot until showdown. The other player stated that he could
not see Luu's cards.

Maria Ho and Tiffany Michelle to Appear on Amazing Race - Do You Care?
According to reports, it looks like that Maria Ho and
Tiffany Michelle are going to be contestants in the Amazing
Race on CBS. Although word is not official, there are rumors
and a pic that shows Ho waiting for filming to begin for the
Amazing Race at LAX. If true, Ho and Michelle will be the latest poker players
that have turned into reality TV stars. Jean Robert Bellande
was famous for his appearance on Survivor and Annie Duke
finished runner-up in the previous season of Celebrity
Apprentice.

Patience Is a Virtue I Have Apparently Lost
Most poker players are afraid to tell you about their bad
session or some of their bad decisions due to the fact that
they feel that they will be looked down upon. Well, poker is
a game where you will make bad decision and I will tell you
that lately, one problem that I have been lately is being
too aggressive in spots late in tournaments or sit-n-go's. Tonight I had two prime examples. One was in seven card stud
and the other was in stud 8.

The Last Woman Standing
Am I the only person that is getting tired of the whole
"last woman standing" bit at major poker tournaments and at
the World Series of Poker? Leo Margets is the latest in a
long line of "last women standing" from the Main Event of
the World Series of Poker. If this was the 1970's and 1980's
when the number of women players was miniscule compared to
the number of men playing, then maybe I could see doing
this. Now, I am not so sure that this is helpful to poker. Granted, I know WHY that it is done.

You Might Be a Poker Junkie
Most of us know Jeff Foxworthy's classic one liners of "You
might be a redneck. " Today, I would like to take a minute
and share some observations that I have come up with or have
heard in my travels that can confirm whether or not you are
a poker junkie. If someone mentions The Bible, and you think of Super
System, you might be a poker junkie. If the decision between playing poker or having sex has ever
taken you more than 3 seconds, you might be a poker junkie.

Jeff Shulman Thinks the Main Event Bracelet is Garbage
Jeff Shulman was among the nine players that made the final
table of the World Series of Poker. After making the final
table, Shulman made the statement that if he were to win the
WSOP Main Event, he would throw the Main Event bracelet in
the trash. At first, many people thought that his comment was a case of
sour grapes. Shulman run Cardplayer.

The WPT For Sale?
It looks as if the WPT may be for sale. On Monday, an
article was published by the Wall Street Journal entitled,
âDeal Someone Inâ in which a potential sale of the
WPT was discussed. When asked about a potential sale,
Lipscomb stated, "We've had discussions with, and exchanged
documents with, some companies that have expressed an
interest. â
The article went on to state that the WPT is worth only
about $25 Million.

Ivey Makes the November Nine
You know Jeffrey Pollack and the WSOP officials are doing
the snoopy dance right now as Phil Ivey has made the
November Nine. In addition, the final table boasts a couple
of other pros that give this final table some credibility
for once. Of course, anyone that followed Day 8 action knows that Ivey
has dropped down to the 3rd shortest stack by the time that
play reached the final table. However, Ivey is perfectly
capable of rebounding from a short stack.
