Zombie Jesus Loves You
There isn't a lot going on regarding news in the poker world
right now unless you actually give a damn that Billy Kopp
got signed by UB. Instead, I thought I would comment on some
really near inexplicable things I have seen lately playing
live and online. I was playing heads-up in a 5 Card Draw SnG just last night
and pre-draw I raised the pot, which made it around 3,000 to
go. My opponent called.

Poker is Not a Game of Skill
Recently an appeals court in Colorado overturned a decision
by a jury that poker is a game of skill. Back in January,
Kevin Raley was found not guilty of illegal gambling after
his bar league was raided in August 2008. The trial allowed
expert testimony from Dr. Robbert Hannum, a professor from
the University of Denver, to support that poker was a game
of skill.

The Bike Event Center Receives an Upgrade
The Bicycle Casino has recently opened their new Event
Center where they will host their various tournament series
that they run through the year. I don't know how many of you
play at the Bike in Los Angeles, but I have mixed feelings
about this upgrade. On the one hand, the new center will allow for larger
tournaments to be played without having to spread the
players throughout the casino. I like this.

Ivey Vs. Ungar
Nolan Dalla was recently asked to give his thoughts about
who was the better player between Stu Ungar and Phil Ivey. Ultimately, Dalla stated that over the long haul, Ivey would
have the advantage due to his ability to stay focused. However, if it was a one shot deal, such as the WSOP Main
Event, he hinted that he thought Ungar would have the
advantage. Dalla brought up a great point regarding the final table.

News Flash - Chris Moneymaker Can Play Poker
Chris Moneymaker has had a good couple of weeks. First, he
took down a PLO tournament during the preliminaries of the
World Poker Open in Tunica, MS. He then turned around and
made the final table of the Main Event of the WPO,
ultimately finishing 3rd. Moneymaker earlier in the year finished 2nd in a preliminary
event during the WSOP Circuit Event in Tunica.

Poker or Sex?
If you had the choice to make, would you rather play poker
or have sex? Don't just give a knee jerk reaction, actually
sit and think about it for a moment. Men, quit looking at
the screen like I've fell and hit my head. Back in 2006, I was at the Orleans for the Orleans Open in a
NL satellite with a couple of guys that had worked in Vegas
since the "old days. " One of the guys was sharing with me
that a certain "Young, attractive, skilled female poker pro"
would rather play poker than have sex.

Ivey's WSOP Prop Bets - May Own Phil Gordon After the WSOP
About the only way you are probably going to win any money
off of Phil Ivey at the present is via prop bets, and that
isnât looking too good. According to an article from
PokerNews. com, Ivey is in line to win Millions if he is able
to take down the Main Event. Tom Dwan will lose $1 Million if Ivey wins the Main Event.

Leaving Atlantic City
Tuesday, I wrapped up what turned out to be close to two
weeks in Atlantic City. Most of my time up there was playing
in low stakes poker games. I turned a profit for the total
trip combined, which was a nice change from the last couple
of visits to Atlantic City. Granted, my other trips were not
huge losses, but I still prefer to turn a profit.

Prop Betting Hands
Ultimate Bet recently started up their 7-2 tables where
players put up money into a side pot and if someone at the
table wins a hand with 7-2, they win this bonus pot. Many of
you have probably seen side bets on television on High
Stakes Poker involving 7-2 and now players have the chance
to test their poker skills with this new format. That got me to thinking about some potentially interesting
side bets:
Queen-3. There should a side pot for the queen trey.
