Why Are Angle Shooting Allegations Not Considered Verbal Abuse?
In this age of hyper-political correctness, it seems odd
that poker is continuing to allow certain allegations go
unchallenged and virtually ignored. Lately, there have been
a couple of different incidents where players have been
accused of angle shooting. The most recent incident
involving Brandon Cantu resulted in a physical altercation
during a WSOP event. And the worst part about the recent allegation was that it
came from a person that was not in a hand.

Amaya Buys PokerStars But Slow Your Roll on US Legalization
Amaya purchased PokerStars this week for over $4 billion. I
didn't see that one coming. Amaya has made themselves the
most powerful online gambling company in the world with the
move. Some would make you think that the deal will result in
nationwide online poker legalization in short order.

WSOP Banner Snafu and Doyle's Still Dead
Oh, WSOP banner staff. How we love to make fun of you. In
case you haven't heard, there was a small problem with Ryan
Riess' WSOP Champion's banner. Can you spot it?
That's right folks.

Player Security Remains an Issue at the 2014 World Series of Poker
Shortly after the start of the 2014 World Series of Poker, I
commented on some alleged robberies that had occurred at the
Rio. Sadly, it appears that security has become a big issue this
year as several players have spoken out to complain about
the inadequate security measures being taken. WSOP bracelet winner Ronnie Bardah issued this general
warning to fellow players:
I heard people continue to get stuck up in the Rio parking
lot!Walk in groups, keep your eyes open and be safe out
there. — Ronnie Bardah (@RonnieBardah) June 7,

Daniel Negreanu - The Sparkly Vampire of Razz
The $10,000 Razz World Championship is underway at the 2014
World Series of Poker. Many like to call the game "Razzle
Dazzle" because that is kinda the way you feel after playing
a long session of this simple but incredibly frustrating
game. Daniel Negreanu has decided to take the razzle dazzle to
another level. His attire this evening has been the talk of
the poker world.

PokerNews Banned From the Venetian - Do You Care?
I don't often talk about other news organizations on here
for the simple fact that I represent PokerJunkie in these
blogs. However, I feel compelled to speak on the recent
revelation that PokerNews was banned from covering the
Mid-Stakes Poker Tour event at the Venetian in Las Vegas. The reason? PokerNews supports online poker. At first I thought this might be a bit of a misunderstanding
or misinformation given to the reporting site, but Nolan
Dalla confirmed with the site that the ban indeed happened.

Jeff Lisandro Makes Valid Points on Gambling Culture and Poker
Some of you may have heard about a "fight" over the weekend
between Jeffrey Lisandro and Brandon Cantu. At the time that
the incident went down, we didn't know many details but
Bluff Magazine's Thomas Keeling was able to get Jeff on
camera and he told his side of what happened.

Vanessa Selbst - From "Blowup" to Blowing Up the Poker World
Vanessa Selbst has just won her third career WSOP bracelet. It also makes her the only woman in history with three
open-field bracelets. It is hard to believe that Vanessa's first WSOP final table
was in 2006. Here is a video of her talking about that final
table and what ended up being her bustout hand.
