Betfair is one of the few sites to withstand multiple transitions in the poker industry. Originally a stand-alone site it later joined the Ongame Network before moving to iPoker. The latest move landed them on the third largest poker network in the world and resulted in a massive expansion in game offerings and player pool. The site has historically excelled in bonuses and that tradition continues with the new Betfair. Overall traffic is focused on low-stakes play but regulars stick around for the soft action and large variety in both cash games and tournaments.

Full Review of Betfair Poker

Summary of Betfair Poker

Betfair is the world's largest sports exchange, offering excellent financial security and a trustworthy gambling platform with a license in the UK.

The poker room used to develop its own software but officially joined the iPoker Network in 2014. It's a move that has benefited Betfair greatly as traffic has been steadily climbing since the move.

You can now play more than 15 simultaneous tables. Graphics are sharp and some often requested search functions have been added to the poker lobby.

Most of the players are European, since the site does not accept players from the U.S. The games at Betfair Poker are generally quite loose and soft - in other words lucrative.

Promotions and Bonus Information

New players are richly rewarded for signing up with Betfair. The "New Player Pack" offers a variety of rewards for players signing up for the first time. First time players receive a 200% bonus good up to $2,000. Deposit $100 and you get a $200 bonus. Next, players receive five $1 Sit & Go tokens that are good for the first seven days that you're a player. You also receive eight freeroll tickets. Four are for $250 freeroll events and the others are for the weekly $1,000 Weekly Welcome Freeroll. New Betfair customers get an entry into the Betfair Bonanza, a special tournament with premium rewards. Players can compete for tournament entry tickets, Betfair merchandise or prizes that include special sporting event packages. Finally, you get a free £5 match for any of Betfair's side games. Bet £5 in any of their side games and it will match it with another £5.

Poker Traffic

Betfair is located on the iPoker Network, currently the third largest online poker network on the world. PokerScout.com shows Betfair averaging around 1,800 cash players each day with a peak of nearly 3,600. A solid mix of traffic comprises this poker network in both cash games and tourneys. Competition can be a bit soft at peak hours thanks in part to the traffic generated from Betfair's Sports Betting platform.

Software & Graphics

Betfair has gone back to basics with what can be called a minimalist design to the client. The client has a sleek and modern feel to it with a simple to navigate lobby. The games focus on the game and not a bunch of bells and whistles like some sites. Game speed is quick with many tables exceeding 100 hands per hour. Many standard features that you would expect with an online room are included such as player notes, preferred seat, hand history, etc. The Betfair client is great for multi-tablers with players able to play up to 15 tables at one time.

Game Variety

After the move to iPoker Betfair's game selection picked up considerably. Focused primarily on lower limits, players can choose from Texas Hold'em, Omaha and Omaha Hi-Lo, as well as Stud and Stud Hi-Lo. Players also have access to the fast-fold option of "Speed Hold'em." Tournament players will have plenty of options with tournaments ranging in buy-ins from $1 and up. Every Sunday there is a huge $200,000 guarantee tournament that draws solid numbers. You also have events offered in most variants of poker spread on the site with the exception of Stud poker. Sit N' Go players should check out Betfair. In addition to your customary version of SNG tournaments, there's also the Jackpot Sit N Go tournaments. If you're able to take down six of these in a row, you can win a jackpot worth up to $50,000
