About the only way you are probably going to win any money off of Phil Ivey at the present is via prop bets, and that isn’t looking too good. According to an article from PokerNews. com, Ivey is in line to win Millions if he is able to take down the Main Event. Tom Dwan will lose $1 Million if Ivey wins the Main Event.

Tuesday, I wrapped up what turned out to be close to two weeks in Atlantic City. Most of my time up there was playing in low stakes poker games. I turned a profit for the total trip combined, which was a nice change from the last couple of visits to Atlantic City. Granted, my other trips were not huge losses, but I still prefer to turn a profit.

Ultimate Bet recently started up their 7-2 tables where players put up money into a side pot and if someone at the table wins a hand with 7-2, they win this bonus pot. Many of you have probably seen side bets on television on High Stakes Poker involving 7-2 and now players have the chance to test their poker skills with this new format. That got me to thinking about some potentially interesting side bets: Queen-3. There should a side pot for the queen trey.

How much televised poker do you still watch? Today, another website reported that NBC’s new Face the Ace program debuted in last place with 1. 59 Million viewers in the first half hour and 1. 54 Million in the 2nd hour. For most cable networks, this would be great, but for a major network, this is disastrous.

Thang Luu went from being a two time bracelet winner to an utter idiot. In a story that I just heard about thanks to another website, apparently Thang Luu got himself banned from Harrah's for breaking a dealer's hand. From the reports I have read, Luu and another player were in a pot until showdown. The other player stated that he could not see Luu's cards.

Most poker players are afraid to tell you about their bad session or some of their bad decisions due to the fact that they feel that they will be looked down upon. Well, poker is a game where you will make bad decision and I will tell you that lately, one problem that I have been lately is being too aggressive in spots late in tournaments or sit-n-go's. Tonight I had two prime examples. One was in seven card stud and the other was in stud 8.

The Last Woman Standing

Am I the only person that is getting tired of the whole "last woman standing" bit at major poker tournaments and at the World Series of Poker? Leo Margets is the latest in a long line of "last women standing" from the Main Event of the World Series of Poker. If this was the 1970's and 1980's when the number of women players was miniscule compared to the number of men playing, then maybe I could see doing this. Now, I am not so sure that this is helpful to poker. Granted, I know WHY that it is done.
