WSOP Main Event Day 8 Third Update - More Eliminations, Redraw

1 18 July 2010 , By: compncards
Crowd 200x300
We are still averaging 4 eliminations per level as the first 2 levels saw 8 players go. Will the next two levels bring the same? *Fourth Level* Players came back for the third level of the day with the blinds at 100k/200k and antes of 30k. With 19 players left we were waiting on only one more player to be eliminated before a full-field redraw would happen. *Michiel Sijpkens out in 19th* Sijpkens made a climb up the chip counts briefly before finally plummeting down and then out of the tournament.

WSOP Main Event Day 8 Second Update - Almonds, More Eliminations, Movers

18 July 2010 , By: compncards
250k chips 307x300
After seeing the elimination of 4 players in the first level of play on Day 8, cards are back in the air for the 2nd level with the blinds at 80k/160k and a 20k ante. *Almonds Anyone?* Coming out of the break the floor introduced the almond chips that are worth T250,000. The next color will be mint, so I guess we will have to stick with the almond name. *More Eliminations* Coming back from the break, in one of the first few hands at the outer table Robert Pisano was eliminated in 23rd place.

Day 8 is finally here. This will be the last day of play for the Main Event until the final 9 come back in November to play out the 9-man SNG for the ~9 million first place. *Battle of Sponsors* As per WSOP rules and regulations when players are on a feature table only 3 players can wear a logo for a single site. What this means is on a table full of 9 players, only 3 can wear Full Tilt Patches and 3 can wear PokerStars patches.

WOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOO!!!! Day 7 is finally in the books. We were looking at a very long night here at the Rio but amazingly the remaining 27 players have bagged up their chips and left the Amazon room (well except for the last few doing interviews). *Bryn Kenney Gambles.

WSOP Main Event Day 6 Closing Update - Breezes, Celebration, and More....

16 July 2010 , By: compncards
Candio 200x300
Only 78 players have survived Day 6 to guarantee themselves at least $94,942. Today we saw the year of the woman become no more, one more Mizrachi brother go down and a new chip color. *Going Out on a Breeze* Coming into the day Breeze Zuckerman had 738k and at one point she had peaked to just over 1 million. For the majority of the day she was sitting on the Jack Links feature table and that is where she was crippled.

WSOP Main Event Day 6 Update - Chan Gone, Bigger Stacks

15 July 2010 , By: compncards
J Chan 200x300
Day 6 has begun but not with a few fireworks. What will the day have in store for us? We started the day with 205 players left in the field, before the end of the day we will be under 100. Who will moving up the chip counts and who will be moving on with their lives? We have no clue what the schedule has in line for us today, could be 5 full levels, could play 4. Heck we could even stop sometime in the middle of the 3rd one if bustouts happen too fast.

'I am Not a Bitch'

theo 200x300
Yesterday Theo Tran went up to a field reporter and ask that he not report anymore hands on him.  Now my field reporter friend, who we will call poofta, could care less and isn't one to feed into the ego of poker players. When Theo lingered for an awkward second my friend poofta asked the reason behind his request to break the silence. Theo said he was not happy with the way a hand was reported and it made him look like a bitch.

All surviving players are now guaranteed $48,847 and tomorrow at noon we return to play here in the Amazon room. *Amazon Room not so Amazon Anymore* Yesterday we brought you a picture of the now empty Pavilion room, but today the Amazon room is the one becoming empty. Up until today we had 3 distinct sections in the Amazon room - blue, orange, and red.
