Redhead of the Month - Baseball Redhead

Baseball Redhead 200x300
I was looking for a picture for a redhead in a sexy baseball uniform, but I ran across the one below instead. Ok, I realize that she isn't wearing a baseball uniform, so just pretend she is associated with the "Cincinnati Reds. "  She can be my bat girl anytime. Or maybe we can play strip baseball poker.

Who Had Easiest Path to Finals in NBC Heads-Up Championship?

10 March 2011 , By: compncards
NBC Finals
The folks on another "poker news" website posted an article debating who had the tougher road to the NBC National Heads-Up Final. For those of you that don't know or don't care, Erik Seidel faced Chris Moneymaker in the finals. I figured I would give my opinions on who had the tougher route to the finals. These were Moneymaker's opponents: Round 1 - John Racener Round 2 - Daniel Cates Round 3 - Doyle Brunson Quarters - David Oppenheim Semis -  Jonathan Duhamel   These were Seidel's opponents: Round 1 - Allen Cunningham Round 2 - Jen Harman Round 3 - Phil Gordon Quarters - Vanessa Selbst Semis - Andrew Robl Let's look at Seidel's opponents first.

Erik Seidel Wins Me $100 - And He Also Won the NBC National Heads-Up Title

Moneymaker Seidel
The 2011 NBC National Heads-Up Championship has now concluded and I figured I would take a few moments to comment on the weekend. First, I realize that I got my initial overall pick wrong. Ivey disappointed me with an early first round exit, but my back-up pick of Erik Seidel came through. So apparently this wasn't the year Mizrachi had a deep run in the bracket.

Phil Ivey Sucks - Erik Seidel to Win NBC National Heads-Up Title

Seidel National Heads Up 199x300
Things were going pretty well for me until the last bracket last night. The first three brackets saw 5 out of 6 of my picks for the elite 8 advance. Then disaster struck during the spades bracket. Phil Ivey fell to Dan Cates.

My NBC National Heads-Up Championship Predictions

4 March 2011 , By: compncards
National Heads Up 367x300
The NBC National Heads-Up Poker Championship kicks off today at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. Normally, I don't go too deep in covering this type of event other than giving whom I think will win. This year is different since I actually have some money riding on this thing. I'm currently part of the little bracket contest that @kevmath is holding for the event.

Is Swedetooth the Biggest Luckbox in Poker History?

7 1 March 2011 , By: compncards
Swedetooth 228x300
A few weeks ago, micro grinder "Swedetooth" came out of literally nowhere to take down the Sunday MegaMillions and $1. 2 Million. It was BY FAR one of the greatest upsets in online poker history. He was heads-up with pocket kings against G1LD3NSTRN and after an ace hit the board, he decided to shove.

I Would Have Called Isildur1 in This Spot

28 February 2011 , By: compncards
Blom
First, let me give DodgyFish72 all the props in the world for an amazing comeback against Viktor "Isildur1" Blom yesterday. He was down over $10,000 at the halfway point of the PokerStars SuperStar Showdown and battled back to pull even with one hand left. He then folded his big blind when Isildur1 moved all-in from the small blind. I would have called.

Godzilla Facepalm 430x260
A few weeks ago, it was announced that Norm MacDonald was going to be the new host of High Stakes Poker. Back then, I said I thought this would be a bad move. While I believed what I wrote, I never expected the performance I listened to last night. [assets/Uploads/Blog/Godzilla-Facepalm.

Poker and Morality - Would You Use a SuperUser Account?

25 February 2011 , By: compncards
Superuser 400x300
I was listening to Donkdown Radio last night regarding the latest on the UltimateBet cheating scandal and an interesting question was posed by one of the callers. The question was, if you somehow acquired a superuser account, would you use it? I think that many of us would strongly consider using the account, especially if we thought we could get away with the money like Russ and company have. Why do I think this you ask?  Simply put, when it comes to money and poker, winning money takes precedence over all else. I know many of you out there are thinking that you would never do that and you could not sleep at night.
