A Mobile Poker Room
The possibility to play online poker on your cell phone is a popular and sought-after option among poker players worldwide, but most poker rooms have been slow in developing new mobile software.
A notable exception is PokerRoom, who has developed a very user friendly and efficient mobile version of their poker software.
Full-Featured Mobile Poker Room
Initially, the mobile poker client supported only limit holdem at smaller stakes, but the version available today is a more or less full featured poker client. You choose between and participate in the same games as those who use the PC version; the games you see in the mobile lobby are the same, and the same goes for the stakes. If it's available on a PC - you can play it on your phone.
Both limit and no-limit Texas Holdem games are available, but no other poker variations so far. Due to the obvious technical limitations, some of the more advanced functions have been left out of the mobile platform, but the overall functionality is still surprisingly good.
Depending on the phone used, there are several options for customizing graphics and game play. On a modern cell phone, the graphics are similar to the PC version, with optional avatars and an actual poker table. If you have an older phone, chances are you will still be able to play, but the graphics may be downscaled to fit your phone - all the way down to a text-based version.
Mobile Account and Cashier
You need an existing account at PokerRoom to be able to use the mobile poker room. If you choose to download install the mobile client, your regular account will be automatically linked to your phone. It's basically just plug-and-play if you have an existing real-money account. Should you need to make a deposit, you can do it right in the mobile software using an encrypted and secure connection.
