Player Security Remains an Issue at the 2014 World Series of Poker
Shortly after the start of the 2014 World Series of Poker, I commented on some alleged robberies that had occurred at the Rio.
Sadly, it appears that security has become a big issue this year as several players have spoken out to complain about the inadequate security measures being taken.
WSOP bracelet winner Ronnie Bardah issued this general warning to fellow players:
I heard people continue to get stuck up in the Rio parking lot!Walk in groups, keep your eyes open and be safe out there.

EVERYONE at the #WSOP needs to complain to @WSOPTD and @WSOPSuitd to open more security boxes & improve parking lot security.

it's fucking absurd, they make millions and millions and all they do in the parking lot is bust you for smoking weed. fucking RIDICULOUS

â@RonnieBardah: I heard people continue to get stuck up in the Rio parking lot!" Time to enlist help from LV Metro, @wsopSUITd? #WSOP

.@wsopSUITd A simple call to Metro asking for the occasional/random patrol of the parking lot after sundown seems reasonable. #WSOP

We are not going to give specifics on twitter, but if anyone wants to discuss poker/tournament/safety/other concerns, come see me.

There is heavy Metro presence (undercover and uniformed) at Rio. Aware of an incident by railroad tracks at 3am. Can't comment @MazeOrBowie

Everyone at Rio and @wsop takes player safety very seriously. Isolated incidents at any casino and facts shouldn't be assumed.
