WSOP 2009 Has Started
The poker bonanza of the year is finally here. Today the $40,000 no-limit holdem begins, one of this year's most exciting events.
On May 27, the 2009 WSOP took off with the traditional $500 Casino Employee event. But already on day two, that is, today, one of this year's most exciting events begins.
In just a few hours, Day 1 of the $40,000 No-Limit Holdem 40th Anniversary event begins. Speak of coming on with a bang!
With a $40K buy-in, this event is the third biggest in the history of the WSOP - after the two $50K HORSE events that have taken place so far. Of course, the 50K HORSE will be back a third time later during the 2009 WSOP.
According to assembled poker forum experts, the expected number of entrants in the 40K lies in the interval 100-300 with pretty high credibility.
As before, we at Poker Junkie hopes this event will remain in the WSOP schedule in future series. Hey, why not make it the new WSOP Main Event?
After all, $10,000 is considerably less worth today than 40 years ago when it all started.
