Poker bootcamp

It has been a very busy week and is promising to be a busy weekend.  My wife and two wonderful sons will be leaving me to visit her family in Australia on Tuesday morning, so I have been spending all the time I can with them and getting very little else done (hence no posts this week).  But with them gone for 7 weeks I will have a plethora of time on my hands. What ever shall I do?
Well first off I will be able to work alot. I will hopefully get some overtime as well as get things done around the house. Other than that I plan to play massive amounts of poker. If I do manage to get to the WSOP I need to get alot of practice. Luckily I have a few options on that front. I can play in home games on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. Other nights of the week I will probably get a little online action.
During this time I want to try and improve areas of my play. I want to get better at short-stack play, heads-up play and reading players. I will also have time to page through a few poker books. Chasing after my two little ankle biters (ages 3 and 1) I don't get alot of time to peruse these tomes but I think I will be able to get to a few I haven't read yet.
So for the next 7 weeks I am going to go through a Poker Bootcamp of sorts. I will still be trying to win, but at the same time I want to try new things and get a more balanced and effective game. And when (not if) I make it to the WSOP I will have the skills I need to take it down.
Well I have to get back to my little hellions and make sure their room is not burning to the ground. I only have a few more days with them and I want to make the most of every day. And remember always play it like you've got the nuts.
