Doyle Brunson to Have Cancer Surgery March 2nd

As some of you already know, Doyle Brunson is once again facing cancer surgery. This time it is for a melanoma discovered on his head a few weeks ago. Now it appears that there may be three other areas on his head that could be cancerous. They are currently being tested to see if they are indeed cancerous.

Preview Schedule Has Poker World Buzzing about the 2015 WSOP

ICYMI, the dates for the 2015 World Series of Poker are out and a preview of the schedule is already available. The two items that have been most talked about since that release is the return of the $10 million Main Event guarantee and the $535 "Colossus" event on the first weekend. Regarding the $10 Million guarantee, there's been a bit of controversy surrounding payouts. Some think that the $10 million for first is a great idea while others would rather see more people paid out or all final table participants receive $1 million.

Received a bit of sad news this evening. Harrah's Tunica is shutting down as of June 2, 2014. This is somewhat disheartening due to the fact that Harrah's Tunica was the first place that I ever played live tournament poker. January of 2006 was the first year I ventured down to the "Grand Casino Tunica" as it was known then.

Full Tilt Payments to Take A Year or More - Why So Shocked?

Cardplayer dropped the bomb on former US Full Tilt Poker players last week when they said that it would be a year or longer before payments would be made. This has brought a lot of anger from players across the nation, but it really shouldn't be that big of a surprise. *Why So Shocked?* It has only been four months since the DOJ approved Garden City Group as the settlement firm. Some people completely expected to have been paid in full before now.
