Poker Staking for the 21st Century

16 April 2009, By: compncards

Most anyone that is a serious poker player has at least entertained the idea of getting them staked into a tournament or a cash game.  Online staking has always been a bit of a crapshoot for players unless they can get stakes from friends or backers that they know in real life.  Online staking has changed in the last year or so with the creation of

ChipMeUp is a website where players can logon and post events for other members to purchase shares in.  For example, if you want to sell 50% of your action, you could make 10 shares worth 5% each for your event.  You would then choose a price to charge for the shares.  When a player purchases a share, they send the money to the online poker account that you setup in your profile.

Clearly, not everyone that logs onto ChipMeUp is going to be able to get their shares purchased.  You need to have some type of track record.  As a result, you will need to put up some links to your online poker rankings, sharkscope, or other stat tracking site.  If you are a live player you may want to put up links to Hendon Mob or Card Player.

ChipMeUp is even used by professional.  Some professional players that use ChipMeUP include Tony G, Bryan Micon, David Saab, James Mackey, and Steve Sung.  If you are interested in potential having yourself backed in some online events, check out ChipMeUp.
