Daniel Negreanu Second Best Once Again

Daniel Negreanu can't seem to hold onto the top spot on money lists lately. Carlos Mortensen is the new all-time money winner for the World Poker tour after taking down the Hollywood Poker Open in Lawrenceburg, IN. Where? What's next, a NAPT event in Shakopee, MN? How about moving the WSOP to Pamplin, Va. Actually, it would be funny as hell to see the WSOP in Pamplin. The Rio in Vegas is bigger than Pamplin, and I wish I was joking there.

Anyway, back to what I was talking about. Carlos Mortensen has also tied Gus Hansen for the most wins on the WPT. Mortensen has a total of more than $5.7 Million on the WPT while Negreanu has won $5.57 Million.

I also noticed a very interesting stat. Mortensen has four final tables in the WPT. He is running 75% to win when he makes the final table. Daniel has taken down 2 out of 7 tries, which would be 28.5%. Daniel ranks 5 in number of events played on the WPT with 86. Carlos is 55th with 57 events played.

"The Matador" is the only man to win both the WPT World Championship and the WSOP Main Event. Daniel has won....neither.

I think I might start putting bets on Mortensen when he plays in a WPT event. He may not make as many final tables as Daniel or cash as often. But it seems like when he gets there, he wins.
