The featured player this week is none other than 13-time bracelet winner and former Main Event champion Phil Hellmuth. Hellmuth picks up Ac-Ks and raises to 1,500. His opponent picks up pocket aces and min-raises to 3,000.

Flashback Friday - Vanessa Selbst Wins Her Third WSOP Bracelet

Vanessa Selbst recently won the Global Poker Index Female Player of the Year award for the third time in a row. In less than a decade, Selbst has skyrocketed to become the top female poker player of all-time. This past summer, Selbst took down her third open field WSOP bracelet. It tied her for the most bracelets for a woman all-time and made her the only one to have three open-field wins.

Flashback Friday - Doyle Brunson Wins His 10th Career WSOP Bracelet

Ten-time WSOP bracelet winner and two-time Main Event Champion Doyle Brunson had successful cancer surgery earlier this week. To celebrate this great news, we take a look back at his tenth bracelet victory in this edition of Flashback Friday. At the 2005 World Series of Poker, Doyle made the final table of the $5,000 Short-Handed NL Hold'em Event, now referred to as Six-Max. It was a stacked final consisting of Jason Lester, Ayaz Mahmood, Layne Flack, Scotty Nguyen and Minh Ly.

Welcome to the 2015 World Series of Gimmick Poker Tournaments

The 2015 World Series of Poker schedule is out. After the major success of a couple gimmick events from last year, we knew things would be different in 2015. At first glance, one would probably ask if there are possibly "too many" gimmick events on this year's schedule. My initial knee-jerk reaction was yes but after looking closely at the schedule, I must admit that I like it.

Speak Out Against SB40

In case you missed it, the Nevada Senate is considering a measure that could potentially make staking poker player illegal. The bill is SB40 and is intended to curtail money laundering through sports betting proxy services. However, part of the bill could be used against poker staking because the bill would make facilitating bets on "future contingent events" illegal. Even casual fans of poker know that backing is big business in poker.
