At first they were only spotted sporadically in the shadier corners of Macau, but lately they have become common even in Las Vegas. I’m talking, of course, about poker bots – mechanical monsters who roam casinos around the world disguised as ordinary poker players. They can read minds, calculate exact odds and thrive on pain and bad beats. Early poker bots were fairly easy to spot – you could identify them by looking for extra legs and antennas protruding from their armpits.

Binions to Leave Hotel to Ghosts of Vegas

The announcement was made today that Binion's Gambling Hall and Hotel will shut down its hotel operations effective December 15th. In addition to the hotel shutting down, the Coffee Shop restaurant and their Keno operations will also cease. All other casino operations will continue as normal. The reason given for the shutdown is essentially the slowdown in the economy.

A couple of months ago, there was a story circulating of a dealer being canned from the Bellagio in Las Vegas after said dealer stole a $1,000 ante chip out of Bobby's Room. Now, there is a new story where four floor supervisors tried to defraud Planet Hollywood out of money after falsifying records regarding "phony jackpot reports. " From reports, it looks like these four supervisors were piece mealing out jackpot claims from poker players and then pocketing the money. There are 26 different special or high hands that will win players money in varying amounts.
