WSOP November Nine Concept Failed

9 November 2010 , By: Charlie River
november nine audience
The last couple of years, the WSOP Main Event final table has been delayed until November. Right from the start it was a matter of debate whether moving the final would make it more or less exciting. I think the answer is clear now: *November Nine is less exciting. * When the Main Event started four months ago, it was the biggest tournament in the world with some 7,000 players.

Too Many "Big Pot" Recaps

1 23 October 2010 , By: compncards
Is it me, or does there seem to be a lot more articles talking about this player or that player taking down a big pot or they won a couple hundred thousand, etc.    Now, I understand some of the articles that are involving big time players like Daniel Negreanu winning a decent amount on a Televised poker show.   That is more or less a show review with an angle.   However, what is up with telling us about xyz player winning a 100k pot on PokerStars or Full Tilt.

WSOP Coverage Day 6 - Nolan Dalla's Prop Bet Epic Fail

Dalla and Ciresi 430x286
Day 6 of the WSOP is plugging right along. The final table of both the $1,000 and $1,500 NL Holdem are both underway. One of the final tables is on the feature table right in front of the media booth and the rail is rather close to the tables that are still playing the six-handed event. The reason I mention this is that there has been an extended discussion between two of the Harrah’s staff members about the rail.

Cereus Security's Epic Fail

Demotivator Epic Fail 369x300
Unless you have been under a rock for the last couple of weeks, you have heard about the Cereus security flaw. For those that have been under a rock, there was a flaw with the encryption that Cereus used that would allow someone to view another player’s hole cards over an unsecured wireless network. No instances of cheating have been discovered to date as a result and Cereus quickly changed their encryption over to a SSL based encryption. They are currently investigating to see if anyone used this flaw to exploit other players.
