Drew McIlvain was recently kicked out of the Tunica WSOP Circuit Main Event for collusion in chip dumping from another player.   An interview with him and WSOP VP of Corporate Communications Seth Palansky is currently featured over at PokerNews. com with McIlvain giving his side of the story and Palansky explaining why they took action. The skinny of the article is as follows: A player suggested dumping his stack to McIlvain McIlvain never said no and continued to talk with him at length about it.

Tunica Trip Update - The Pokers Hate Me

31 January 2012 , By: compncards
Two days down, two to go here in Tunica. Got here last night and headed over to Harrah’s Tunica to check things out. The Seniors’ event was well in swing and I ended up playing a single-table satellite. Did well early on but lost a key flip about mid-way to get crippled.

Why Does Harrah's Rincon Still Get a WSOP-C Event?

Devo 400x300
There are a few people that seem to be surprised by the fact that the WSOP Circuit Regional Championship in Rincon this week only drew 98 players. Some figured that the added TV time and potential guaranteed seats for the National Championship would be enough to bolster this struggling stop. I'm surprised they hit 98. The WSOP-C stop at Rincon has been among the worst stops on the WSOP-C the last couple of years.

WSOP Africa
The first ever WSOP themed event just concluded at the Emerald Casino in Gauteng, South Africa, and nobody gives a damn. You didn't know that there was to be a WSOP Africa event? You aren't alone. Back before the beginning of the 2010 WSOP, there was an announcement that the WSOP would hold an event in Africa. It was going to be the WSOP Africa.

First WSOP Circuit Regional Championship Kicks Off Monday

WSOP Circuit 430x285
Monday will kick off the first ever Regional Championship in WSOP Circuit history. For those of you that don't know, the WSOP Circuit has revamped itself this year and players at each stop have a chance to win their way into a season-ending National Championship event that even awards a WSOP bracelet. Now, I applaud the WSOP for revamping their circuit events. The buzz around them has been great and the $10,000 Event Monday should draw a strong crowd.

The Minor Leagues of Poker

Pilgrim 205x300
For those of you that don't follow smaller events closely, Dwyte Pilgrim recently won his third WSOP Circuit ring at Harrah's Rincon. Quite an accomplishment for the young pro, especially since he just won his first ring last year. Wicked Chops Poker asked if he was the best Minor League Pro out there. This got me to thinking about Poker in the terms of Baseball.
