Nominations for the Women in Poker Hall of Fame[http://womenspokerhalloffame. com/wiphof/nominations/] are now being accepted and I have once again filled out my nomination for this year's class. Anyone that knows me or has followed my blogs should not be surprised at one of my nominations and anyone that knows my appreciation for poker's past should not be surprised of my other nomination. My first nomination was for Annie Duke.

I just spent the last few minutes reading Annie Duke's speech that she gave at the 2011 Women In Poker Hall of Fame induction ceremony. I must say that I was thoroughly impressed by her words. Annie addressed a topic that some of us touched on a few weeks ago and that is the lack of female participation at the WSOP this year. Only 3% of the field was comprised of women.

The Women in Poker Hall of Fame announced their 2010 class last week and, as I figured, my two picks were inducted into the Hall along with someone else I never heard of. Jennifer Harman was to me an obvious choice due to the fact that she is clearly the best all around female player on the planet. She is the only woman to consistently play at the high limits of Bobby's Room year in and year out and is the only woman in history to have 2 open WSOP bracelets. Kathy Liebert is the all-time women's money winner and clearly the best female NL Holdem tournament player on the planet.
