PPA Supports Online Poker - Just Not the Facts
I have never had a tremendous amount of respect for the
Poker Players Alliance. I always have thought they were extremely unorganized and
seemed to have very little value true value to poker
players. Let's not even discuss their Full Tilt Poker connections. Now, they have released a statement regarding statements
made by I.

UIGEA is Unenforceable is Officially Mythbusted
Welcome to this week's edition of Poker Mythbusters. The UIGEA is unenforceable. The UIGEA is a bad law. The wording of the UIGEA is too vague.

US Government Drops the Bomb on Online Poker
I am not a conspiracy theorist. However, I am a realist. For years now, online poker sites have been finding a way to
circumvent the UIGEA and still provide payments to online
poker players. Â Anyone with any common sense knew that
the sites were playing with fire.

The Swedish Supreme Court Got it Right About Poker
The Swedish Supreme Court recently ruled that poker is BOTH
a game of skill and luck, basing its decision dependent on
the type of poker being played. The court ruled that tournaments are skill games and that
cash games are more random chance because players can come
and go as they please and bet whatever they wish. Finally, someone gets it right. Let me clarify that I do not view cash games as random
chance or poker tournaments as skill games only.

Virginia Congressmen Lobby Against Legalizing Online Gambling
Looks like a couple of my congressmen want to start
shit. Â Bob Goodlatte and Rick Boucher, both delegates
from Virginia have been circulating a letter around congress
urging members to reject any attempts to repeal the UIGEA
and vote against any bills that legalize online gaming. Â
(Yes, I live in Virginia. )
One of their points is that online gambling will bring all
the trappings of a brick and mortar casino into homes and
college dorms across the country.

So, I Was Wrong
"December 1st is approaching and the UIGEA enforcement will
commence. I am not even going to say it is scheduled to
commence as I fully believe that it will get there. There
will be no delays. A "Hail Mary" bill will not be signed in
time to stop the banks.

Random Rants - Isildur1, Doyle, and the UIGEA
Today, I just feel like randomly ranting and commenting on
some things. The Isildur1 Saga:
Unlike the "sparkling vampires" saga, the Isildur1 saga is
at least entertaining. The all-time record for largest pots
played online has been broken multiple times and Isildur1
has been up and down more than a hooker on Fremont Street. For now, I am just considering this a nice blip in the
online poker world.

Online Poker May be a States Rights Issue
The Third Circuit Court of Appeals basically upheld the
UIGEA on Tuesday and dismissed the iMEGA's claim that law
was too vague. However, the judges made the following
statement in the filing:
âIt bears repeating that the Act itself does not make
any gambling activity illegal. Whether the transactionâ¦
constitutes unlawful internet gambling turns on how the law
of the state from which the bettor initiates the bet would
treat that bet, i. e.
