Speak Out Against SB40
In case you missed it, the Nevada Senate is considering a
measure that could potentially make staking poker player
illegal. The bill is SB40 and is intended to curtail money laundering
through sports betting proxy services. However, part of the bill could be used against poker
staking because the bill would make facilitating bets on
"future contingent events" illegal. Even casual fans of poker know that backing is big business
in poker.

Pros Robbed of Funds at WSOP - It Didn't Have to Happen
Poking around the poop sheets today and saw that several
players have been robbed at the Rio in Las Vegas. Poker players being robbed during the World Series of Poker. Gee, big shock. Sadly, I've been there too.

Would You Give These People Money?
Kathy Liebert and I have been tweeting back and forth on
twitter recently about something that is a part of life in
many large cities, and has even spread to some smaller
communities. You go into a gas station or are at a local shopping center
and someone comes up to you telling you that they are having
hard times and are wondering if you could spare them some
spare change or a dollar. The question we discussed was whether you would actually
give them money or not. Personally, it depends on the situation and how it goes
down.

Doyle Brunson Considering Leaving Las Vegas
Doyle Brunson revealed in his blog Tuesday that he is
considering leaving Las Vegas due to the lack of high limit
action. Â He stated that Vegas is not a very desirable
place for a poker pro anymore. Doyle's consideration of moving to California is a good one
in my opinion. Â Personally, if I were to move someone
just for the sake of playing poker, California would be one
of the first places that I would consider.

Rio Sale Rumored Complete - WSOP to Move to the Strip
Although the official announcement has not been made, it
appears that the Rio All-Suites Hotel and Casino has been
sold to Boyd Gaming. Â Harrah's has been looking to sell
the property for months and it appears that they have
finally unloaded the off-strip casino. For those of you that don't know, the Rio is the current
home of the World Series of Poker.  The WSOP moved
there in 2004 after Binion's Horseshoe was purchased by
Harrah's Entertainment.

The World Series of Poker Begins Tomorrow!
The World Series of Poker is just ONE DAY AWAY! Players
from all over are already beginning to descend upon Vegas
and beginning their pre-WSOP preparations. Â The poker
media is in town having their pre-WSOP meetings and
Harrahâs has been in meetings for the last couple of
days in preparation. What have I been doing? Playing video poker and watching
Doctor Who mostly. Â While that may not be the most
exciting preparation for the WSOP, we have a long six weeks
ahead of us.

Running Bad in Las Vegas
To say that my first week in Vegas has been unforgettable is
a bit of an understatement. Iâll start with the gaming aspect. My first full day, I
decided to play in cash games for the better part of the
evening downtown. The table I sat down to had a lot of money
on the table for the limits and a lot of bad players.

2010 WSOP Trip - Day 4 - Viva Las Vegas
So I wake up about 9:15 A. M. this morning. I refer to
anytime in the morning as âstupid oâclockâ in
the morning, so being up this early is a bit unusual for me.
