Jimmy Sommerfeld
Got some somewhat sad news today as Jimmy Sommerfeld, one of the best tournament directors in the business, is stepping away from the game. Here is his announcement from TwoPlusTwo forums: I started in the poker business some 18 years ago, because I was a bad 1-5 seven card stud player. Yesterday, I turned in my resignation as Tournament Manager for the WSOP. I will be resigning the WSOPCE effective March 1, 2012.

The 2010 World Series of Poker was posted briefly online earlier in the day and then taken down. If you go over to 2+2 forums, you can take a look at what was posted. Odds are that the schedule is nowhere near accurate, but it gives you a good idea of what to expect. In an equally as interesting article in the Las Vegas Sun, Seth Palansky, the talking head of the WSOP, gave some insight into next year’s WSOP.
