Reid Reveals Online Poker is NOT a Priority
Directly after the mid-term elections, Senate Majority
Leader Harry Reid said that he would be willing to work with
Republicans moving forward. Knowing that he will become the
Minority Leader come 2015, this was to be expected from
Reid. When Reid made this statement, I commented that this would
not be good for online poker's chances of being legalized at
the federal level anytime soon. I hate to say it.

Shutting Down Brothels = Job Growth According to Reid
So let me get this straight, Harry Reid is for online poker,
but he is against legalized brothels. On Tuesday, Reid addressed the Nevada State Legislature and
said that brothels should be shut down because they are
stifling job growth in Nevada. He claims that getting rid of
them will get rid of the tarnished image of the state. Really? Legalized sex is the reason Nevada has a tarnished
image? Yes, when I hear people talk about Nevada, I hear
them say "You know, I would go out there except for those
damned brothels.

Online Poker Legalization Nearly a Reality?
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid from Nevada has introduced
the Internet Poker Act of 2010 that would effectively make
online poker legal. Â While many poker players and
companies are waiting with anticipation for the passage of
this bill, I figured I would take a couple of minutes and
review what this new bill would mean for internet poker as
it currently stands. First, only existing casinos, race tracks, and slot machine
makers will be authorized to have a license within the first
two years after the bill being passed. Â Furthermore,
existing online poker rooms are prohibited from transferring
their assets to a licensed entity.
