Do Weed and Booze Help Poker Players Play Better?
I just finished watching Allen Kessler's interview with
QuadJacks at the 2012 World Series of Poker about poker
players who smoke weed during the breaks of poker
tournaments. The video is at the bottom of this post for
those that haven't seen it yet. I must admit that I totally side with Allen on this matter
and it does indeed boggle my mind that many young poker
players go out of their way to smoke weed on breaks. I know some of you think that it helps you play better, but
as Allen says, it does not.

WSOP Day 30 Update - Gavin Smith Wins First Bracelet, Year of the Kessler
Day 30 of the 2010 World Series of Poker is nearly in the
books. Another $1,000 NL Holdem Event kicked off today as
well as the $2,500 Mixed Game. The $5,000 Omaha Hi-Lo is
playing to the money, but not likely the final table. The
same applies to the $1,500 NL in Day 2 play.

Allen Kessler on Another Run
Today is a slow one at the World Series of Poker. Â
Theres not too many people around and history could be
made! Phil Hellmuth is sitting at the final table of the
$1,500 Omaha Hi-Lo hoping to win his 12th bracelet. Â
Someone who is hoping to win thier 1st bracelet and has had
a great 2010 WSOP is Allen Kessler.  He has 5 cashes
in 5 different events and is sitting with chips in
the 10k H.

WSOP Day 22 - Seniors Event Shatters Record and The Apocalypse Approaches
Day 22 of the 2010 World Series of Poker is underway and
both the Pavilion and the Amazon Room are hopping today. The
Seniors Event kicked off at noon and has pretty much
overpowered both rooms. In addition, we had Day 2 of both
the $5,000 NL Six-Handed and ½ PL Holdem ½ PL Omaha
Event grinding away. The final two tables are working
towards a bracelet and the $1,500 H.

WSOP Day 11 Second Update - Yan Chen Wins NL 2-7 Bracelet
It is yet another late night here at the Rio. The Six-handed
NL Holdem event is plugging right along and Day 2 of the
$1,000 NL is down to about 13 tables at the time of this
writing. Andy Black, Will Failla, and Victor Ramdin are all
deep in that one. The NL 2-7 Event just finished with Yan
Chen taking the bracelet.

Phil Hellmuth Wins Non-Holdem Bracelet
Another in a series of "Unlikely Poker Headlines". Phil Hellmuth wins non-Holdem bracelet
In a stunning upset, Phil Hellmuth defeated Allen "Chainsaw"
Kessler heads-up in the $1,500 Stud 8 or Better event to win
his first bracelet outside of Holdem. Â Of his
accomplishment he said, "I knew that this day would
come. Â I put so much of myself into every game I play and
I know that I can compete in any game out there.
