2011 World Series of Poker Schedule Released

The schedule for the 2011 World Series of Poker has been released, and all signs point to yet another record-breaking year.
This year's WSOP will be held from May 30th, 2011 to July 19th, 2011 at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, NV.
The number of events has increased from 57 to 58, and new events have been added along with the return of an event missing from last year's schedule.
Here are a few highlights of the schedule:
$25,000 Heads-Up NL Hold'em Event
A 256 player max heads-up NL Event will be the first open event of the 2011 WSOP.
Event #2 will kick off on May 31st at 5 p.m. and should draw a strong crowd of spectators as well as a strong field of pro players.
First Ever 10-Game Event, with Badugi
Event #29 will be the first time that the WSOP will hold a 10-Game event. This event will also feature the first time Badugi has been played in a WSOP tournament.
The 10-game mix includes HORSE as well as Limit Badugi, NL 2-7 Single Draw, Limit 2-7 Triple Draw, Pot Limit Omaha, and No-Limit Hold'em.
This $2,500 buy-in event should draw a strong crowd and hopefully will be the launching ground for other games to be added to the WSOP, such as Pot-Limit Five-Card Draw.
Poker Player's Championship Moved to End of Schedule
This years $50,000 Poker Player's Championship has been moved to Event #55, which should provide a strong lead-in for the WSOP Main Event.
Last year, the main complaint from fans and players was that the event was too early in the schedule. Moving it to Event #55 should build some nice buzz for the event as it should help to determine the 2011 WSOP Player of the Year.
Other Notable Events
Event #35 will be a $5,000 six-handed PL Omaha event. Shorthanded events are wildly popular and this edition should provide some interesting matchups and even more action than normal PLO events.
Event #47 will feature the return of the Omaha 8/Stud 8 Event. This dual split pot game event was omitted from the 2010 WSOP and the fans of the event let them hear it during the WSOP and during the offseason.
A complete schedule of all events can be found at http://www.wsop.com/2011. In addition you will find information about satellites and other deep stack daily tournaments that will be held during the event.
Also, for the first time, the WSOP is providing direct links to their hotels with special room rates for the WSOP. Players can check out the schedule and plan out their trip all in one place.
