WSOP Satellites Running at Sportsbook Poker - Signup and Receive a Fantastic Bonus

11 April 2008, By: Pokerjunkie.com

On May 30, the world's biggest poker competition sets off in Las Vegas, Nevada. The 2008 World Series of Poker might very well become the biggest ever, which is not to say a little.

WSOP satellites starting at $4

At Sportsbook.com Poker, satellites are now running on a daily basis. Prize packages are awarded to the $10,000 No-Limit Holdem Main Event as well as the $1,500 No-Limit Holdem Event starting at June 30. The Main Event packages includes $2,000 of spending money, while the smaller event has a $500 spending add-on.

Buy-ins to the WSOP satellites start at $4 for sit-and-go satellites as well as multi table tournaments. You can choose to play $7 rebuy satellite tournaments or use your gold chips in the 5 Gold Chip rebuys.

The weekly WSOP Final is played each Sunday, awarding $12,000 Main Event packages. The direct buy-in is $215 but you can qualify as described above, or qualify by playing the semi-final freezeout with a buy-in of $33.

The weekly WSOP final starts at 5 PM (ET), while the semi-final starts at 2:30 PM, also every Sunday.

Seven World Champions will be crowned in WSOP 2008

This year in WSOP there will be seven $10,000 World Championship Events, rather than just the old Main Event:

  • No-Limit Holdem (WSOP Main Event)
  • Heads-Up No-Limit Holdem
  • Seven-Card Stud
  • Limit Holdem
  • Omaha Hi-Low
  • Pot-Limit Omaha
  • Mixed Game

The mixed game is like an "Extended HORSE" game and includes a total of eight different games: Limit Holdem, No-Limit Holdem, Omaha Hi-Low, Pot-Limit Omaha, Seven Card Stud, Razz, Seven Card Hi-Low Split and 2-7 Triple Draw Lowball.

Of course, the $50,000 HORSE World Championship event will reappear in the 2008 World Series of Poker, this year with an added prize: a trophy named after the late David "Chip" Reese, who won the event in WSOP 2007, shortly before his premature departure.
