Tuesday, Jun 29, 2010 WSOP 2010 Event 45 - Jesse Rockowitz Wins $1,500 NL Bracelet

Event #45 at the 2010 WSOP was yet another $1,500 NL Holdem Event.   The largest $1,500 NL field of the 2010 WSOP turned out to battle for the bracelet and $721,373 in prize money.

Day 1 of this event started with 3,097 players looking to take down this event.  Among the notable players that moved to Day 2 were Chino Rheem, John Juanda, Victor Ramdin, Dutch Boyd, and Tom Schneider.  324 players made the money in this event and among those finishing in the money were Jeffrey Papola, John Juanda, Konstatin Puchkov,  and John Phan.  Dutch Boyd made a deep run in this event but finished in 15th place.

Raymond Coburn and Jesse Rockowitz battled for the bracelet.  Coburn led 8.35 Million to the 5.5 Million of Rockowitz.  When it seemed Coburn was going to take the bracelet, Rockowitz managed a double up to pull slightly ahead of Coburn.  The final hand saw both limp in to see a flop of  7c-8d-2d and Rockowitz bet out 95,000.  Coburn raised to 500,000 and Rockowitz made it 1.36 Million to go.  Coburn made the call and the turn fell the 6s.  Rockowitz bet out for 945,000 and Coburn moved all-in.  Rockowitz mulled over the decision for a while and finally made the call.  He then revealed 7h-2h for two pair.  Coburn showed Kc-9c for only an open ended-draw.  The river fell the 8s and Jesse Rockowitz is our champion.

Jesse Rockowitz takes home his first WSOP bracelet and $721,373.  Congratulations.
