Tuesday, Jun 1, 2010 WSOP 2010 Event 3 - Day 1 Summary

Event #3 of the 2010 World Series of Poker is the first $1,000 NL Holdem Event of the season.

Each weekend of the 2010 WSOP there will be a $1,000 NL Event with two start days.  This first $1,000 NL kicked off on Saturday and drew 2601 players.  Day 1b of the event was Sunday and 1744 players took the field to bring the total to 4,345 players.  441 will ultimately be paid in this event.  First place will receive $625,872.

Poker Junkie bloggers compncards and Frank Wilburn both played in the event but both were eliminated on their respective Day 1's.

Other players that hit the rail during Day 1 were Phil Hellmuth, Erick Lindgren, Gavin Smith, Joe Cada, Kara Scott, Eric Mizrachi, and Bernard Lee.

The Day 1a field thinned to 207 players and Day 1b to 276 players.  Braxton Dunaway leads the field with 139,000 going into Day 2 action.  Others that remain in the hunt are Gabe Costner, Nancy Todd Tyner, Brent Roberts, and Vanessa Rousso.  The remaining players will return on Monday to break the money bubble and begin their March towards the final table.
