WSOP 2010 Event 3 - Aadam Daya Wins $1,000 NL

Event #3 of the 2010 World Series of Poker was the first of several $1,000 NL Holdem events.  4,345 players turned out to take their shot at the first open bracelet of the WSOP season and $625,872.

Day 1a and 1b consolidated to a mere 441 players for Day 2.  The money was quickly reached with Vanessa Rousso getting knocked out just shortly after the bubble broke.  Others that didn't make Day 3 were Bryan Devonshire, Jim Meehan, and Men "The Master" Nguyen.

Day 3 of the event saw 41 players return to work their way to the final table.  UB pro Eric "Basebaldy" Baldwin was the biggest name left in the field, but he bust in 15th.  Gabe Costner headlined a final table that saw Aadam Daya enter as chip leader.  Here is how the final nine players entered final table play:

Gabe Costner would ultimately finish in 3rd place when he ran A-Q into A-K.  Heads-up play was between Aadam Daya and Deepak Bhatti.  While the stacks were relatively even with Daya holding 7.7 Million to Bhatti's 5.5 Million, the play was anything but even.  Daya dominated the heads-up match and ultimately forced Bhatti to move all-in with less than 1 Million in chips. Unfortunately for Bhatti, his K-5 was facing pocket queens.  A five hit the flop, but that is all the help Bhatti would receive.  As a result, Aadam Daya is the Champion in Event #3 of the World Series of Poker 2010.

Aadam Daya received a gold bracelet for this event as well as $625,872 in prize money.  Congratulations to Aadam Daya, Event #3 Champion.
