Friday, Jun 18, 2010 WSOP 2010 Event 26 - William Haydon Wins $2,500 Six-Handed NL Bracelet
Event #26 of the 2010, $2,500 Six-Handed NL Holdem, kicked off with 1,245 players looking to take the bracelet and $630,031.
WSOP 2010 Event 26 winner William Haydon
The Day 1 field started with many of the usual suspects you would expect for Day 1 of a $2,500 Event. Erik Seidel, Phil Hellmuth, Eric Lindgren, JC Tran, Andrew Robl, and Annette Obrestad all took the field. Day 1's field was reduced to just 156 players with 127 players making the money.
Among those that made the money but fell shy of the final table were Annette Obrestad, Tom Franklin, Maria Mayrinck, Eddy Saba, Jerry Yang, and Steve Billirakis. 15 players returned for Day 3, all looking to make the final table. Joe Baldwin started the final table as the chip leader with more than a 1 Million lead over the next closest player. Here is how the final table started in chips:
| Joe Baldwin | 2,812,000 |
| Jarred Solomon | 1,779,000 |
| Steve Cowley | 1,730,000 |
| Eddy Scharf | 1,321,000 |
| Jeffrey Papola | 1,000,000 |
| William Haydon | 799,000 |
Heads-up play started between Jeffrey Papola and William Haydon. Haydon held a dominating 7.39 Million to 1.91 Million chip lead over Papola. Not long after the start of heads-up play, Papola moved all-in pre-flop with Ac-6h and was called by Haydon holding Ac-Jh. A flop of K-Q-4 gave Haydon a broadway draw and left Papola either needing running straight card to chop or a six to double up. The turn fell the 9c, leaving him with three outs. The river fell the 9c and Jeffrey Papola was out in 2nd.
William Haydon is the Event #26 Champion. He took home the gold bracelet and $630,031. Congratulations.
