WSOP 2010 Event 14 winner Yan Chen
This field was a very strong mix of professional players, amateurs, and lowball specialists. 29 players received a payday in this event. Among those that made the money in the event were Ted Forrest in 28th, $2,500 Triple Draw bracelet winner Peter Gelencser in 23rd, Tad Jurgens in 17th, JC Tran in 15th, Erik Seidel in 14th, and Chino Rheem in 9th.
The final table of this even was headlined by both Nick Binger and Alex Kravchenko. Binger entered the final table as chip leader. Here is how the final seven players started final table play:
Seat 1: James Bord 83,800
Seat 2: Alexander Kravchenko 144,500
Seat 3: Mike Wattel 146,000
Seat 4: Yan Chen 182,500
Seat 5: Derric Haynie 189,000
Seat 6: Nick Binger 309,500
Seat 7: Todd Bui 68,500
Nick Binger started as chip leader, but ultimately was short stacked three-handed. He was all-in drawing two with a 7-3-2 and Mike Wattel drew one holding 9-6-5-2. Binger drew Q-6 to finish with a queen. Wattel drew a ten for a ten and Nick Binger finished in 3rd.
Going into heads-up play, Yan Chen held a 620,000 to 505,000 chip lead over Mike Wattel. Play went back and forth in this one and both players were chip leader at some point. Chen then started taking over and eventually moved up to over 1 Million chips, not bad seeing the world series of poker blind schedule.
The final hand saw Wattel move all-in pre-draw for 98,000 and Chen called. Wattel stood pat and showed Q-J-10-9-4. Chen showed 10-8-7-6-2 and that was all she wrote for Wattel.
Yan Chen is the $1,500 NL Single Draw 2-7 Lowball champion. He takes the bracelet and $92,817.
