Friday, Aug 22, 2008 WPT Legends of Poker Main Event starts tomorrow

The biggest poker event since the WSOP 2008 begins on Saturday in Los Angeles when the World Poker Tour Legends of Poker Main Event kicks off.

The Legends of Poker (LOP) is played at the Bicycle casino in Los Angeles and features a total of 30 events. The first started already in the end of July. We have no reached the main event which will start 2:15 p.m. PDT on Saturday, August 23rd and run over a total of six days. The final table of six players in this $9,800+$200 no-limit Texas holdem event will be played in front of the WPT cameras on Thursday, August 28th at 5pm PDT and be one of the events in the seventh season of WPT.

The most notable achievement during this year's LOP so far is the two wins by Men 'the Master' Nguyen. He has already won Event #13, $300 + $35 No Limit Hold'em w/Rebuys tournament, bringing home $65,700. His second win was the Event #15, $500 + $45 Omaha Hi/Lo, giving him another $20,535.

The big question is who will win the WPT LOP main event this year. Last year Dan Harrington came out victorious of the 485 player strong field, winning over $1.6 million. Stay tuned for reports from this year's main event here at Poker Junkie.
