Event 13 of the 2009 WPT season brought yet another trip to the Bellagio, the de facto "home" of the World Poker Tour, and another high, $15,000 buy in.

As the final Bellagio event, the Five Diamond World Poker Tour championship approached, more and more pros and amateurs became interested in the big prize pools and the glory that a WPT bracelet from the Bellagio would bring.

The winner of this hotly contested tournament would take home over a million and a half dollars, while the second place finisher would collect almost a million himself.

As a result, the end of this tournament brought a table loaded with pros. Long time poker cowboy Hoyt Corkins made yet another WPT final table appearance, as did respected pros Amnon Filippi and Steve Sung.

Justin Young and Evan McNiff rounded out the table along with one David "Chino" Rheem, hot off his final table finish at the World Series of Poker main event and looking to add to his poker legend.

The players danced around early, but finally short stacked Corkins had to make a move. He put his chops in with AQ suited but unfortunately ran into Justin Young's AK. The poker gods had their senses of humor, putting out a flop of K Q 6, and Corkins went to the rail.

Things moved quickly when Young, Filippi and Sung all got tangled up in the same hand. Filippi open pushed for close to a million dollars with pocket nines. He picked the worst possible time to do so as both Sung and Young woke up with hands, Sung with KK and Young with AA.

The aces held up, and when Chino Rheem knocked out Evan McNiff a little later, the heads up battle was underway.

Both Young and Rheem had impressive stacks and the chip lead shifted back and forth for hours. Finally, on a flop of Q 8 3, Rheem bet and Young check-raised all-in with Q5.

Unfortunately, Rheem was able to show an overpair with KK, made the call, and added a WPT championship to his already impressive resume.
