$50,000 MTT Showdown at Winner Poker

If you know how to dominate a freezeout, this promotion may be your way to some extra gold.

During November, December and January, Winner Poker is running a multi table leaderboard promotion worth a total of $50,000.

You earn leaderboard points by placing high in multi table tournaments. The more entrants, the higher the buy in and the better you place, the more points you get.

Leaderboard calculation

This formula decides how many points you get for each MTT finish:

Note that the buy-in amount that you'd normally find in a formula of this kind is replaced by a buy-in coefficient.

The buy-in coefficient goes up in increments with increasing buy-ins as follows:

Cash prizes and freerolls seats

The top 500 players each month win a prize consisting of a $2,500 freeroll entry plus a cash prize for the 200 best players, rating from $1,500 to $15.

It pays to be cheap

If you study the buy-in coefficients you'll notice that it strongly favors micro stakes players.

Convert it to the maximum coefficient you can get for $100 of buy-ins and you get this table:

(For freerolls, of course, you get an infinite amount of coefficient for $100.)

So, depending on how much time you have and the amount of tournaments available, in this Leaderboard race you may actually want to play it cheap.

Of course, spending $100 in 50c MTTs may turn out overwhelming.
