Thursday, Jun 5, 2008 Who will be HOTARSE of the WSOP?
The $10,000 World Championship Mixed Event has started at the 2008 WSOP. H.O.T.A.R.S.E. is a more suiting name for the tournament.
Deuce-to-seven triple draw, limit hold'em, Omaha hi/lo split, razz, seven-card stud, stud hi/lo split, pot-limit omaha and no-limit hold'em are the games in this new WSOP playing form.
PokerJunkie thinks that "Mixed Event" is a very boring name, and has come up with a much more fun and exciting alternative - H.O.T.A.R.S.E.:
H is for the Hold'em games, both limit and no-limit.
O is for Omaha hi/lo split.
T is for deuce-to-seven Triple draw.
A is for pot-limit Omaha.
R is for Razz.
S is for Seven-card stud.
E is for seven-card stud Eight or better.
So who is looking good for becoming the world champion H.O.T.A.R.S.E. in 2008? Well, it's still early days in the tournament, but players such as Tom Schneider, Gus Hansen, Jeff Madsen, Phil Ivey, Gavin Smith, David "Devilsfish" Ulliot, Johnny Chan, Vanessa Rousso, Barry Greenstein and Katja Thater are doing well so far.
The most likely outcome, however, is that someone will come from behind to claim the HOTARSE title.
