Friday, Aug 29, 2008 WCOOP 2008 Coming Up

The biggest annual online poker event is about to hit the road. Starting on September 5 on Poker Stars, the World Championship of Online Poker 2008 will run for two weeks, over 33 events, with a total guaranteed prize pool of $33,000,000!

For the seventh consecutive year, it's WCOOP time. Thousands of online players gather on Poker Stars to enjoy online poker when it's at its best - including big stars like Daniel Negreanu, Greg Raymer and Barry Greenstein.

The 33 events of the 2008 WCOOP feature guaranteed prize pools adding up to a total amount of 33 million dollars. Alone the WCOOP Main Event, a $5,200 No-Limit Holdem tournament, guarantees an amazing $10 million.

A number of players have already qualified to WCOOP, as satellites are already up and running on PokerStars. You can qualify too all 33 events through online satellites, with buy-ins starting at $2.20 - or 200 Frequent Player Points.
