UFC President Dana White Banned From Palms Casino for Second Time

UFC President Dana White is used to watching knockouts, not receiving them. Recently, though, he took one of his own after he was banned from playing at the Palms Casino in Las Vegas.

White was banned a couple of years ago after being pegged as an "advantage player" but he was convinced by new management to return.

He then proceeded to beat the casino for $2 million and initially saw his betting limits lowered from $25,000 maximum to $5,000 maximum. He was later informed he was no longer allowed to play.

White told the Las Vegas Review Journal, "Casinos don't want to gamble anymore. They're all owned by hedge funds and corporations. They want to stack the odds so much against you that won't play.

"Realistically, there's only one place to play left in town. That's Caesars. They will let you play what you want to play. No messing around with limits."

Apparently, this doesn't mean that White will quit spending leisure time there. He is reportedly a big fan of N9ne Steakhouse and will leave a $10,000 tip for a $10,000 meal.

Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open No Longer Conflicts with EPT Barcelona

Poker pros hoping to play in the Main Event of the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open later this year received some good news on Wednesday. Tournament officials announced a change in date so that it would not conflict with EPT Barcelona.

The tournament is now scheduled to take place starting August 28, one day after the conclusion of the EPT Barcelona Main Event. Originally, the schedule conflicted and many pros expressed disappointment.

The reason for the disappointment stems around the $10 million guarantee put up by the casino. Last year, the event was actually able to smash the guarantee by $2 million. Blair Hinkle went on to win the event and $1.75 million.

In addition to the Main Event, the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open will feature a $100,000 Super High Roller event to kick off on September 1. Both events will allow re-entries.
