Petition for the Game, 10 for Hall of Fame
This Week in Poker players petitioned President Obama, the WSOP announced the 10 finalists for the Poker Hall of Fame and the South Point Casino in Vegas stuck its toe into the online poker pool.
Petition the White House to Legalize Online Poker
The Obama Administration has urged United States citizens to take to the internet and petition the government.
Whitehouse.gov has now setup a petition option that allows citizens to create and sign petitions related to issues they would like addressed.
The PPA has now set up a petition for online poker. The online petition asks the Obama Administration to "protect consumers, create jobs, and generate revenue by licensing and regulating online poker."
At present, the petition has just over 8,000 signatures and users can sign the petition until October 22nd.
You must register for a free account on the website in order to vote.
Originally, the administration had stated that any petition with at least 5,000 votes would be reviewed and an answer given to the petition. Due to an overwhelming response, that number has now been changed to 25,000.
The online poker petition reached 5,000 signature before the number was bumped up and according to the PPA, it will still be answered.
However, every signature the petition receives is another voice and helps build the cause. If you have not signed the petition and would like to do so, visit whitehouse.gov.
