Wednesday, Feb 18, 2009 The rrrrud Challenge is on?
There have been lots of rumors circulating in the poker world lately. Can Dom Twan afford his own challenge? Will his opponent's Internet connections hold? Well the answer to both these questions my friends are: Yes!
The rrrrud challenge has finally started and the action at Full Tilt Poker has been fierce. A number of matches were played yesterday, but only one was completed. The game was low-stakes PLO, played heads-up on one table at the time.
Dom Twan had a line of challengers at the $0.25-$0.50 PLO heads-up tables yesterday, but only one opponent lasted the whole 50 hands that are required. He played a few short matches with varied results and ended up breaking about even after a few ill timed bluffs. Then 2SHORT2WIN entered the table.
The match lasted the whole 50 hands and both players where at one point during the game sitting with most of the money in play.
Dom Twan lost two all-ins when his two pairs were beaten by higher two pairs on the river, but on the other hand also won a $134 pot when his straight draw turned into a runner runner full house. In the hand that sealed the deal Twan flopped top two pair on a A-J-3 board. All the money went in and he was beaten by 2SHORT2WIN who managed to flop bottom set.
After 50 hand 2SHORT2WIN had won slightly more than a buyin ($58) and was declared the winner. In addition to the $58 she gets an extra $15 for here great victory.
But the challenge is far from over so keep your easy open for Dom Twan at the $0.25-$0.50 heads-up holdem and PLO tables at Full Tilt Poker if you're looking for the game of lifetime.
If you can't find Tom but still want to challenge him. Please send an email to dom.twan@yahoo.com Put "rrrrud Challenge" in the subject field.
