Monday, Mar 23, 2009 The durrrr Challenge is on again - tiny lead for Dwan

After close to 6,000 hands in the durrrr Challenge, Tom Dwan is up around $15,000 against Patrik Antonius.

The durrrr Challenge has been rather slow so far, but Dwan and Antonius picked up the pace a little over the weekend. First Antonius scored a nice win and was up around $100k in total, but durrrr retaliated quickly and regained the lead.

It's isn't a big lead however, only $15,000. So much for the speculations that one of the players would go broke before the challenge was completed (50,000 hands). There is - on the other hand - lots of heads-up poker still to be played, so it might just happen.

The most drama so far in the durrrr Challenge has been about the players´ poor Internet connections. Antonius had a lot of problems when he was playing from Thailand, and this weekend it was durrrr's turn. This is from the chat after the session Antonius won:

durrrr: i guess i need to quit
durrrr: until i fix intnet
durrrr: that was almost pretty costly
durrrr: well
Dealer: durrrr has 15 seconds left to act
durrrr: i guess it wouldv saved me $$ lol
durrrr: but lost ev
Patrik Antonius: k

Predicting how the durrrr Challenge will end is hard. Predicting that there will be lots more lame excuses is easy.
