Wednesday, Feb 24, 2010 Sunday Night $250,000 Guaranteed at William Hill

If you want to play for big bucks, have a look at the $250K Guaranteed at William Hill on Sunday Nights.

With a rich and varied satellite scheme, you can enter qualification tournaments on many different cost levels, either in sit-and-gos or multi table tournaments.

Sunday Night $250K Guarantee

The Sunday Night $250,000 Guarantee at William Hill Poker is a freezeout with a buy-in of $300+$20. It runs every Sunday night at 19:00 GMT (2 PM EST).

As the name implies, there's a guaranteed prize pool of $250K regardless of the number of entrants. If fewer than 833 players join in, there'll be an overlay which means free money for you - but only in theory, you can still be eliminated out of the money.

Satellites big and small

The smallest satellites start at $3.50 (plus a 30c fee). Then there are satellites at $4.40, $5.50, $32 $40, $65 and more.

Of course, with such low buy-ins you have a long way to go before you're qualified. Your chances of winning a seat in the tournament naturally depends on the number of players you have to defeat.

No harm trying, though, just keep that in mind. (And see our article on satellite buy-ins.)

On the other hand, if you enter a satellite with a buy-in of $40 or $50, your chances are much better.

Sunday Satellites

A really nice concept from the guys at William Hill Poker is the so called Sunday Satellites. Thanks to this setup, you can start qualifying for the Sunday Night tournament starting on Sunday morning the same day.

The Sunday Satellites start ten minutes after midnight and go on for the greater part of the day, again with buy-ins from $3.50 to $50 or so.

With the main tournament starting at seven o'clock, this tournament is much better timed than many other big Sunday night tournaments that start one or two or even three hours later on Sunday nights.

For let's face it, if you run deep you'll have a hellish Monday at work.
