Friday, Oct 24, 2008 Possible Collaboration between CryptoLogic and PartyGaming

The CryptoLogic network recently announced that they are having discussions with 'another major poker network' about a possible collaboration. According to Financial Times this other company is no other than PartyGaming.

So it seems like two of veterans in the online poker business might be putting their eggs in the same basket - the reason is said to be that the two companies wants to cut their costs during these times of crises. CryptoLogic recently lost William Hill to Playtech and the online poker site WorldPokerTour.com is closing down. So it's fair to say that the company has seen better days.

By strike a deal with PartyGaming CryptoLogic hopes to be able to cut their costs and PartyPoker's market share has fallen from 40 percent to 8.5 percent in the last two years - so one can argue that the two former giants seem to bee needing each other. Party/Crypto would definitely be an interesting new player on the online poker scene.
