Summary of Poker770
As a part of the iPoker network, Poker770 has one of the biggest player bases in internet poker. There’s a good range of games on offer, so you’ll always find a game that suits your needs here.
Poker770 has a strong European presence. Most of all, French players like to hang out on the site. Actually, this site is so French that when you install the software, the default language.is French.
Of course, you can choose other languages as well. At this writing English, German, Italian, Spanish, and Chinese are available.
Nevertheless, if you want to play against French fish, Poker770 would definitely be your sweetest choice.
Promotions and Bonus Information
When signing up, make sure you specify the bonus code junkie770 to secure the sign up bonus.
Poker 770 works actively with promotions for both new players and oldies. For natural reasons the promotion scheme will vary from week to week, but below is a description of the promotions available at the time of writing. Check out the latest details yourself at the site!
When you sign-up using a link at PokerJunkie,com you’re eligible for a sign-up bonus matching 100% of your first deposit up to $770 / £400 / €450.
Every week, 50 freerolls are available, with total prize pools worth more than $115,000. A few of them are reserved for new players, such as an iPod freeeroll and freeroll satellites to the weekly $50,000 Guaranteed tournament.
Every month there’s a juicy Million Dollar Guaranteed with a host of qualification paths. Satellites are starting as low as $0.44.
Then there’s the weekly Sunday night $250,000 guaranteed with satellites starting at $3.
To celebrate the arrival of Pound tables, there will be some crazy happy hours with three times as many VIP points as usual to be earned. This promotion is restricted to the Pound tables.
For sit and go lovers, Poker770 has enticing sit and go jackpots that you can bring home by winning a number of consecutive sit and gos.
Win six $50 sit and gos and you win a jackpot of at least $50,000. As long as no one wins it, though, it keeps building up. At this writing it’s at a smashing $180,000!
For $20 sit and gos, the jackpot is minimum $25,000 and right now at $55,000. For $5 sit and gos the minimum jackpot is $15K, and for $2 sit and gos $2K.
Of coruse, winning six sit and gos in a row is an impressive feat for anyone. I can’t remember when I last did that. Won a sit and go.
Poker770 is a member of the iPoker network which means that the traffic is among the best in the world.
This is largely a European site, and the traffic peaks tend to coincide with European evenings. Meanwhile, in the early morning hours of Central Europe, the action goes down considerably.
Software & Graphics
The Poker770 lobby has a really good level of functionality. The game listings are well catergorized and there’s a good set of filters that you can apply to display only the games you want to find.
When you select a game in the list, additional info about the table is displayed. I’m not sure if all of it is that useful, though:
When you’re at a table there are the ususal buttons for betting and folding, a standard betting slider and an editable betting field. The pre-defined bet sizes seem pretty sensible, such as half pot and full pot.
The waiting list is pretty advanced. All in all, the software seems to be working really well. It’s fast and accurate.
The stats feature at the table is well designed and really helpful.
Between us, the Poker770 graphics look like a joke. This design is a relict from the “pre-modern” online poker era that ended many years before we were treated with the graphical brilliance of PKR, or even Microgaming.
But that shouldn’t prevent you from making good money in the soft games. Being overly aesthetic can be a costly mistake. Just close your eyes and click on Raise.
On a sdie note, the Poker770 web page looks like a joke as well. But I’m sure you’re not coming to Poker770 to look at their web page.
Poker770 performs casino hustling in the poker lobby. I hate this kind of greedy, unrelated stuff. Also, you start the poker software by double-clicking on a file called casino.exe. For me, this feels like a personal failure. But hey, that’s just me. I’m having an appointment with my doctor tomorrow.
Poker770 has the basic game offerings and then some extras.
Texas Holdem is offered in all formatsof course, and Omaha High and High/Low is standard.
Then there are two different stud games – seven-card stud and the less common five-card stud. The stud games come in the fixed limit high variation only.
The tournament selection is really good, which goes for sit and gos too. There are tournaments with buy-ins from 30 cents to $2,500, mostly played in holdem of course, plus a few in Omaha.
There are plenty of freerolls as well, we’ll talk more about this under Promotions.
Satellites are very well represented on Poker770. Both online tournaments and land based live events come with a masive structure of small and big satellites
