Full Review of OnlyPoker
Summary of OnlyPoker
As the name indicates, OnlyPoker is fully dedicated to poker. It’s part of the Cake Network which was developed by a group of US and Canadian poker players with the intention of putting poker players first. With no interests in casino gaming or sports betting, OnlyPoker can take the liberty to challenge UIGEA and allow US players to play at the site. Hat off for that stance in a world of short-term profit maximization.
The software may not be the prettiest out there, but it works very well and can be customized to suit every player’s preferences. Tables can be resized, you can remove the avatars if you prefer to, and of course you can play with four colored cards for improved usability. The lobby is a bit cluttered, but finding what you’re looking for is very easy nevertheless. Good filtering of games and tables.
The poker traffic on OnlyPoker and the rest of the Cake network is more than decent, and during peak hours you should have no problems finding games at your preferred stakes. The network ranks number ten in the world at this writing. Games are often very soft, and the rake is average.
Promotions and Bonus Information
When you sign up to OnlyPoker using the link on Poker Junkie, you’ll get a 110% sign up bonus. The bonus will match your first deposit up to a maximum bonus of $600. That is, to receive the maximum $600 bonus you have to deposit at least $546.
Don't forget to supply the PJONLY bonus code!
The bonus is earned in $10 increments based on the Frequently Player Points (FPP) that you accumulate in real money cash games and tournaments. You need to collect 167 FPPs to clear one $10 bonus payment. When you look up your pending bonus in the Cashier tab, the FPP amount listed under the dollar amount is the FPPs you need to clear your next $10 payment.
In cash games you earn 1 FPP for each $1 in rake that you generate. For tournaments, each $1 in tournament fees gives you 7 FPP. For example, when you enter a $10+$1 tournament, you collect 7 FPP. The bonus expires 90 days after your first cash deposit.
Besides this, OnlyPoker runs a pretty intense schedule of freerolls, as well as daily $100K guaranteed and weekly $250K guaranteed tournaments. You can even freeroll your way into the $250K GTD.
The Gold Card Race rewards the top 50 card collectors with a total of $12,000 in prizes each week. If you place in the Top 50 on the gold card leaderboard you can win cash prizes up to $500.
Poker Traffic
Cake is number ten poker site or network in the world right now, and the traffic is decent. Especially in the Texas holdem games, there are rarely any total vacancies throughout the stakes levels. Of course the traffic is highest at the lower stakes, and these games go from soft to very soft, with flop percentages often in the 50-60%
Despite the site welcoming US players, its traffic tends to peak during late European night time, around 10 PM GMT. The action on OnlyPoker is mainly British, it turns out.
Software & Graphics
If you like a sober black background, you’ve come to the right place. In the default mode, OnlyPoker still sucks up the old ultra-realistic aesthetics of early online poker sites, featuring rugs and chairs and players etc. But you can easily switch all that off and have a very calm and crisp interface.
Thanks to state of the art vector graphics, tables can be freely resized up and down without inconvenience to fit your needs. Multitabling is a pure pleasure when using the smallest table view, and the software operation is really smooth and stable.
At OnlyPoker you can also pick your position at the table, and you can set it to a default position. (Let’s be clear, the table is rotated. You cannot choose the chair to the left of the bully or anything like that.)
Other than that, you can set plenty of details, like the color of the back of cards, you can choose to use a four color deck, you can specify the amount of information displayed at the table, and so on.
For hand histories, the default setting is that hand histories will be stored on your disk for ten million days, which while sounding a bit long is actually the setting most players will want anyway. You can also check the previous hands while still at the table, very convenient.
Game Variety
OnlyPoker gives you a bit more games than average while less than some of the really “game-rich” sites. Holdem, Omaha and seven stud come in the settings we’re used to see, including Omaha high/low and stud high/low.
Fixed limit, pot limit and no limit are applied in standard ways, and there are both multi table tournaments and sit and gos in all games variations and betting structures.
