Full Review of Absolute Poker
Summary of Absolute Poker
Absolute poker is a mid sized poker room with about 2, 000 cash-game players and 10, 000 tournament players at peak hours. Bear in mind that this is an independent poker room and not part of any network so all players are actually playing at Absolute Poker. The game selection is decent but the major part of the players is found in the low and mid limit Hold'em section. The software is top-notch. It looks ok, and runs perfectly and has many useful features. Absolute Poker is a really good choice if you are new to poker; the games are definitely beatable and the sign-up bonus is one of the best in the industry.
Absolute Poker offers one of the best sign up bonuses available on the internet. Any deposit up to $750 is matched by 100%, which is a very good deposit bonus. The refer-a-friend bonus also looks interesting. When you refer a friend and he/she has played 200 raked hands your account is credited with $75 and your friend's account with $50. Absolute Poker also offers many good free rolls, satellites to the WSOP, re-deposit bonuses, and has a VIP program which the loyal player can benefit from.
Poker Traffic
The cash-game traffic hasn't reached great volumes yet, but it is constantly growing. If you play low or mid stakes Hold'em you can always find a game where the competition is very soft. If you wish to play with higher stakes there are further between the games, but it is not impossible to get some high-stake action from time to time. There are rarely many games going on in the Seven Card Stud and the Omaha sections. The tournament traffic is decent and at peak hours there are almost 10, 000 tournament players active.
Software & Graphics
Absolute Poker is an independent poker room and they have created one of internet's best poker software. It suffers from very few glitches and there is never any downtime. All games run fast and reliably, and the graphics and sounds are decent. This poker room might not be the most beautiful, but the games are easy to overview and that is the only thing most poker players care about. The software has quite a few good features such as; find a player, hand history game stats and note taking. Absolute poker also has a "private tournament option", which allows players to create tournaments with their friends.
Game Variety
The game variety is about industry average. Absolute Poker offers fixed and no limit Texas Hold'em, which can be played 1 on 1, short handed or full ring. You can also play Omaha, Omaha Hi/Lo, Seven Card Stud and Seven Card Stud Hi/Lo. These games are available in fixed, pot and no limit. Texas Hold'em fixed limit games range from $150/$300 down to $0.02/$0.04 and no limit Hold'em games from $5/$10 down to $0.05/$0.10.
