The 23 different events had a total prize pool of over $24,000,000.The WCOOP is a collection of tournaments with players from all over the world competing. Poker Stars allows US players on the site so you will also find many of the American pros competing for the prestigious WCOOP bracelets and millions in cash prices.
Any player with a Poker Stars account can enter the WCOOP. The easiest way to do it is by paying the entry fee. In 2007 the cost to enter the main event was $2,500, but you could also find smaller events for buy-ins from about $200 up. If you are reluctant to buy-in directly there are satellites with lower buy-ins available to all events. Loyal players can also get in through Frequent Player Points freerolls.
Poker Stars have a very strong poker team and many of these players usually play in the different WCOOP events. So don't be surprised if you find Barry Greenstein, Greg Raymer or Chris Moneymaker across the table.
To become a WCOOP Champion might not be as prestigious as winning a WSOP or a WPT Event, but one thing is for sure, when it comes to online tournaments WCOOP is as big as it gets. The prize pools are huge and hey, the winners will even get a bracelet.
