Monday, Aug 4, 2008 Poker Player forced to leave casino because of his body odor
Poker player Michel Wax was enjoying a 17 hour poker session at the Borgata casino. After several complaints from fellow players Wax was forced by management to leave the casino because his body odor was said to be offensive.
54 year old Wax plays regularly at the Borgata. He was approached by a casino manager when he entered the restroom. 440-pound heavy Wax was informed that his body odor had become offensive to his fellow players at the table and that several of them had made complaints. Wax dismissed the message and walked back to his table. There he was once again notified about the situation and asked to quit playing and leave the casino premises.
Wax asked the manager if he could get a free hotel room and freshen up, but the management turned him down and Wax was forced to leave right away. This resulted in a complaint filed by Wax against the casino with the Casino Control Commission.
He admits that he had problems with his body odor, but was upset about the fact that the casino embarrassed him in front of other casino guests. His complaint is currently under review to decide if the casino has broken any gambling laws or regulations.
