Fox to Put on Big Game Wannabe Program
I logged on this morning and saw an ad stating that the "Big Game" was coming to TV. When I first saw it, I thought "Nice! That ought to be a good show." Then, I noticed a picture of Daniel Negreanu. My next thought was "Crap....this is going to be another Holdem show."
Sure enough, the "Big Game" on Fox is going to be yet another televised Holdem cash game. $200 - $400 NL with $100 antes. I....am....so....thrilled.....at....this....concept....
I like High Stakes Poker, but c'mon folks, enough with the Holdem cash games. The only potentially interesting part of the show is the wild card element of an online qualifier through PokerStars.
Daniel Negreanu and other Holdem monkeys will be playing on the show. I personally have about as much interest in this show as I do with watching Agricultural Television. It has nothing to do with Negreanu, or even the people on it. I am just tired of NL Holdem all the time. The actual "Big Game" or something similar on TV I personally think would be interesting. People need to see more than just Holdem on TV in my opinion. Are some of the games as exciting as Holdem. Well, for the casual poker fan, probably not. However, I think it would help grow some of the mixed games, especially if they can get some of the best players playing the games.
Of course, that won't happen anytime soon. In the meantime, we get to watch the "Big Game Wannabe Show" on Fox.
