Friday, Feb 6, 2009 Poker Legend Berry Johnston on FTOPS XI Final Table
1986 world champion Berry Johnston finished 6th in FTOPS XI Event 3. Was insulted by PrahladF on the way.
Berry Johnston is a true poker legend. He won the 1986 WSOP Main Event, has reached the final table of the biggest poker tournament in the world two more times, and has won five WSOP bracelets in total. Three cashes in the 2008 WSOP proves that he is still going strong.
The 74-year-old Full Tilt pro has what it takes to make it far in big online tournaments as well. Johnston finished 6th in FTOPS XI Event 3, $200 + $16 Seven-Card Stud and took home $3,439 in prize money.
Right before the final table, Johnston was involved in an interesting hand with player PrahladF. Johnston called all the way to 6th street with a hidden pair of fives, made two-pair on 7th street (5's and 2's) and called another bet from his opponent.
PrahladF who had been betting with ace-high (he had jack-high showing and made a pair of fours on 7th street) most of the hand didn't take the loss very well. He wrote "time for bed yet grandpa?" and "ur eyes not working?" in the chat after the hand. Johnston didn't respond.
Player AsMetzmagnyAs won FTOPS XI Event 3 and $27,503 in prize money.
FTOPS XI Event 2, $240 + $16 Omaha Hi-Lo, was won by Brazilian player who took home $61,104.
