Tzvetkoff Taking a Beating for Poker
Australian internet tycoon Daniel Tzvetkoff has decided to plead not guilty of having transmitted funds to illegal online gamling.
Heâs taking the position that poker is not gambling, a truth that Iâve claimed in a previous blog post.
While other gambling CEOs have chosen to bargain their way out of messy legal situations, Tzvetkoffâs decision to call down the DOJs aggressive play will force them to show their cards.
Tzvetkoff is playing a high stakes game, to say the least. He was denied bail and is facing a really long prison stay even before his case goes to trial.
I donât know any details of the individual case. I know nothing about the business dealings of Daniel Tzvetkoff. He might be just another businessman not giving a darn about poker. I donât know that.
But one day, when poker has finally been generally approved as one of the fine strategical games, Tzvetkoff should be one of our true heroes.
Heâs sticking it in for poker.
